just yesterday I saw this photo online, and wished i could take a closeup shot of a dragonfly that looked that good.

so today i saw a dragonfly. species i'd never seen before, extremely large. very well camouflaged once it landed. and it didn't seem to be afraid of me. unlike usual, i've cropped all of these photos. the last one i like the best, that's the closeup i wanted.

i made a candle out of unused orthodontic wax and wrappers from babybell cheeses

after it went out, i mushed the wax into a second candle

it was tough picking out three sunset photos. a lot of them were good.

saw a couple of bats. unfortunately, due to my camera's delay, and the bats' irregular movement, this was the only photo i managed to get. note that it has been cropped, and i've adjusted the brightness and contrast.

Friday morning we left for Ottawa, and I arrived back at my house at 9:00 tonight (Sunday). I took 150 photos (few have me, naturally). Here are 6 of them.

: Dinner on Friday night. starting at the front right, and going counter-clockwise, there is Janet, me, John, Troy, Rebecca, and Alicia. Due to the sun in my eyes, I didn't see anything during that meal. I had other people take this photo.
: Later Friday night, looking over the boat locks. From the left, Alicia, Janet, Rebecca, Troy, and John. Yep, I'm taking the photo.
: Dinner Saturday night, at an Ethiopian restaurtant. Both interesting and good-tasting. Me, Janet, and Rebecca both got a drumstick and hard boiled egg in berbere sauce on top of this spongy breadlike stuff.
: Sunday afternoon, us looking out the window at the top of the Peace Tower.
: View from the top of the Peace Tower.
: Driving home, Sunday evening.
